Business Visas
from Chennai.
A business visa is not a different visa so much as a different evidence set. The category is usually the same visitor class — what changes is that a company on the other side has to vouch for you, in writing, in the right terms.
How a Business Visa Application Works.
| Step | What happens |
|---|---|
| Step 1 | We confirm the correct category for the destination. Most countries admit business visitors under the same visitor class as tourists — B1/B2 for the United States, the Standard Visitor visa for the UK, a Schengen short-stay C visa for Europe. A genuinely different class is needed only where you will be paid locally or performing work, which is a different conversation. |
| Step 2 | We specify what the host invitation must say. This is where most business applications fail. A letter that simply says the applicant is invited is not enough — it needs the host entity’s details, the specific purpose and dates, the nature of the commercial relationship, and a clear statement of who bears the costs. |
| Step 3 | We assemble your Indian-side company evidence: a letter from your employer confirming your role and the purpose of travel, company registration and GST documentation, and where relevant proof of the trading relationship such as purchase orders or correspondence. |
| Step 4 | We file the application and book the appointment or biometrics slot required by the destination, and where an interview applies — as with the United States — we prepare you for the business-specific questions, which differ substantially from tourist questions. |
| Step 5 | We track the application and deliver the passport back to you. For repeat corporate travellers we keep the documentation set on file so subsequent filings move much faster. |
For companies sending staff regularly, we operate on account — one point of contact, documentation held on file, and consolidated handling for multiple travellers on the same trip.
What You Need to Give Us.

|---|---|

| Host invitation letter | On letterhead, with purpose, dates, relationship and cost responsibility |

| Company registration | Certificate of incorporation or equivalent |
| GST registration | Current certificate |
| Trading evidence | Purchase orders, contracts or correspondence with the host |
| Bank statements | Personal, 6 months, bank-stamped |
| Company financials | Where the company bears the costs |
| ITR / Form 16 | Last 3 years |
| Event registration | For conferences, trade fairs or exhibitions |
Business applications are refused for different reasons than tourist ones. Finances are rarely the issue — a salaried professional travelling on company business usually clears that bar easily. The problem is almost always the invitation.
What a weak invitation looks like
Two lines on plain paper saying the applicant is invited to visit. No dates. No description of what the meetings are about. No statement of the commercial relationship. No indication of who is paying. A consular officer reading that has no way to distinguish a genuine business trip from a manufactured one, and will refuse rather than enquire.
What a strong invitation looks like
The host entity's full details on letterhead, the applicant named with their designation, the specific dates and locations, a plain description of the purpose — which contract, which product line, which trade fair — the history of the relationship between the two companies, and an explicit statement of which side bears travel and accommodation costs. We will send your host a specification of exactly what to include, which saves a round of correction.
Trade fairs and conferences
These are usually the easiest business applications, because the event registration is independent third-party evidence of purpose. Register first, then apply — an application citing an event without a registration confirmation is materially weaker.
Business Visitor, Not Work Permit.
What a business visa permits
Attending meetings, negotiating contracts, attending conferences and trade fairs, conducting site inspections, receiving training, and general commercial discussion. You remain employed and paid by your Indian employer throughout. This covers the overwhelming majority of corporate travel from Chennai.
What it does not permit
Being paid by an entity in the destination country, taking up employment, or performing productive work for a local company. That requires a work permit or an employment visa, which is a different application with sponsorship, labour market and sometimes qualification requirements. If what you are actually going to do is work, we will tell you that a business visa is the wrong instrument — using one for work creates serious problems, including bars on future entry.
How We Work with Chennai Companies.
Account handling
For companies whose staff travel regularly, we hold your corporate documentation set on file — registration, GST, financials, standard employer letter templates — so each new application starts from a complete base rather than from scratch. One consultant handles your account, so you are not re-explaining your business every time.
Multiple travellers, one trip
Where a team travels together to a trade fair or a client site, we file as a group. That means consistent documentation across all applicants, appointment slots booked together where the destination allows it, and a single point of contact rather than each employee chasing their own file.
Ticketing and forex in the same place
We are an IATA agent and an RBI-authorised money changer, so the flights, the visa and the foreign currency come from one office in Mannadi. For a finance team, that means one vendor and one set of invoices rather than three.
Short-notice travel
Business travel is frequently decided at short notice, and destinations differ enormously in how much that can be accommodated. UAE and Saudi tourist eVisas can move in days. UK priority services exist at additional government cost. US interview availability in Chennai is the hardest constraint and cannot be shortened by any agent. When you tell us the date, we will tell you honestly whether it is achievable.
Repeat and long-term visas
Frequent business travellers with a clean history are strong candidates for long-validity multiple-entry visas — the UK's two, five and ten year visitor visas, multi-year Schengen visas, US visas issued for up to ten years. Presenting your travel history properly is what earns these, and it removes the recurring administrative burden entirely.
