Planning Notes

What Chennai Travellers Ask Us First.

Getting there

Chennai has daily direct flights to Dubai on Emirates, IndiGo, Air India Express and Air India, and the sector takes about 4 hours 15 minutes. Emirates operates the widebody service with the most generous baggage allowance, which matters if you are shopping. Morning departures from Chennai land in Dubai around midday and give you a usable first day — we default to those rather than the red-eye options.

Visa timelines

UAE tourist visas for Indian passport holders are processed in 3 to 4 working days. You need a passport with 6 months validity, a recent white-background photograph and a confirmed return ticket. If your passport was issued in a different state, allow an extra day. Aleef processes the visa in-house at our Mannadi office, and our doorstep service means we collect the passport from your home or office anywhere in Chennai.

Money and currency

The UAE Dirham is pegged to the US Dollar, so the rupee rate moves only with the dollar. We are an RBI-authorised money changer, so you can collect Dirham cash or a forex card from the same office that issues your ticket, at a rate we quote upfront. Carrying Dirham from Chennai is almost always cheaper than exchanging rupees at Dubai airport.

When to travel

November to March is the comfortable season and also the busiest — book 6 to 8 weeks ahead for Christmas and New Year travel. April, May, September and October are shoulder months with lower hotel rates and manageable heat. Global Village and Miracle Garden are closed from roughly May to October, so if those are on your list, travel in winter.

Travelling with elders or children

A large share of our Dubai bookings from Chennai are three-generation family trips. We book hotels with lifts and in-room kettles, arrange wheelchair assistance at both airports at no extra charge, request the non-dune-bashing desert safari vehicle, and add vegetarian or Jain meal plans where needed. Say so when you enquire and it is built into the quote rather than added later.

FAQ

Dubai Package FAQ.

The cost of a Dubai package from Chennai depends on four things: your travel dates, the hotel category, the airline fare on the day of booking, and whether Abu Dhabi and optional attractions are included. Winter travel between November and March costs more than the shoulder months. Because airfare moves daily we quote the live fare rather than publish a figure that goes stale — send us your dates and group size and you get a written breakdown the same day, with the exclusions listed in full.
Yes. Indian passport holders need a UAE tourist visa before travel. We process 14-day, 30-day and 60-day tourist visas in 3 to 4 working days, and the visa is included in all our Dubai tour packages. Your passport must have at least 6 months validity from the date of travel.
Direct flights from Chennai (MAA) to Dubai (DXB) take about 4 hours 15 minutes. Emirates, IndiGo, Air India Express and Air India operate daily direct services. We book the departure that suits your itinerary rather than the cheapest available slot.
November to March is the best window — daytime temperatures sit between 24°C and 30°C, and the desert safari, dhow cruise and outdoor attractions are comfortable. Global Village and Dubai Miracle Garden are open in this season. June to August is the cheapest but daytime heat crosses 42°C.
Yes, but we book different vehicles. Families with young children or elderly travellers get the non-dune-bashing safari with a direct camp transfer, camel ride, cultural show and BBQ dinner. Dune bashing is optional and we flag it clearly at booking.
Yes. We handle family groups, wedding groups and corporate incentive trips of 10 to 120 travellers from Chennai. Group bookings above 15 travellers get a dedicated tour manager, private coach transfers and negotiated hotel rates. Aleef has been arranging group travel from Chennai since 1998.
Daily breakfast is included in all packages. Dinner is included on the desert safari and dhow cruise evenings. We can add full-board Indian vegetarian, Jain or halal meal plans on request — Chennai families travelling with elders usually take this option.
